MAN ARRESTED AFTER GUN FIRED OUTSIDE BAR
A bar fight in the Ville Marie borough late Thursday degenerated into a shooting, but no one was injured. The incident began with a verbal altercation at 10:50 p.m. in a bar on Panet St., Montreal police Const. Yannick Ouimet said. One of the men involved, 68, left the bar to go home and get a gun. He returned and convinced the other man, 41, to continue their conversation outside. It was when they were outside on neighbouring Ontario St. that the man took out the gun, but the younger man pushed the gun out of range, so the bullet hit the wall. A suspect was later arrested at his home and could face charges of armed assault and illegal possession of a firearm. The reason for the argument is still not known.
