TWO KILLED AFTER HEAD-ON COLLISION

Two people, a 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, were killed in a head-on collision Friday in Bécancour, part of the Trois-Rivières metropolitain area, Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Grégory Gomez said Friday night. Around 6 p.m., the driver was reported to have tried to overtake a vehicle, but was not able to get back into the proper lane in time to avoid a head-on collision with an oncoming vehicle. The driver of that vehicle, a man in his 50s, was injured but his life is not in danger, Gomez said.
