French blend has layered backdrop

red, $13.30, SAQ # 585414. A blend of grenache, carignan and cabernet sauvignon. Even better than last year’s version. The fruit is a touch richer, but shows the same great tannin and acidity, backed up by a refreshing mint note alongside more subtle notes of tarragon and rosemary. Serve at 18 C. Drink now-2015. Food pairing idea: lamb chop with herbs.
