Howard Stern apologizes for ‘little fat girl’ remark

- DOUG CAMILLI CELEBRITY camillimail@gmail.com

On Jan. 7 shock-jock Howard Stern took an on-air run at Lena Dunham, whose HBO show Girls is a big hit. He called her “a little fat girl who kinda looks like Jonah Hill and she keeps taking her clothes off and … I don’t want to see that,” etc.

A week later, unprompted by any lawyer’s letter, Stern apologized — two words rarely used together. “I felt bad because I really do love the show Girls … and I admire the girl who writes it,” he said, onair. “I love you and I think you’re terrific.”

So Lena phoned in, and they bantered good-naturedly. “I’m not that fat, Howard,” she said. “I’m not super thin, but I’m thin for, like, Detroit.”

Next, I suppose, she’ll have to apologize to the motor city.

Stern’s 59. Dunham’s 26.

Those pecksniffs at Britain’s Advertising Standards Authority have banned an email ad for Rodial Body Cream. It shows Mila Kunis, in a black bra and panties, glancing back over her shoulder. She looks, umm, sleek.

The watchdog agency objected to the type, which claims the cream’s “intensive formula” helps “reduce the appearance of cellulite” and give a user’s lower middle rear view a “Mila Kunis’ Esquire look.” That’s a reference to her memorable tight-leather-jeans cover photo for that magazine last year.

So far, there have been no complaints about an even stranger claim, for a product modelled by Mick Jagger’s daughter Lizzie in new print ads.

Denim Spa jeans from Wrangler are said to have an infusion of products combined to protect the skin of jeans-covered areas from denim’s “dehydrating effects.” Yours for a mere $140 in any of three types: Aloe Vera, Olive Extract and Smooth Legs.

Lizzie is 28.

Why shouldn’t Adam Levine of Maroon 5 have his own “apparel and accessories” line for Kmart? It’s official, coming soon, and I imagine you’re just as excited as I am about it.

With his broad fashion back- ground and impeccable taste … oh, wait. He doesn’t have those qualifications. Evidently he does have the other essentials for a deal like this: a modicum of fame, a desire for easy money and a following of suckers.

He’s 33.

Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence co-star in this movie Silver Linings Playbook. He just split with Zoe Saldana. She just broke up with this guy Nick Hoult. So what could happen next?

A no-brainer, isn’t it? But not so fast. “If it didn’t happen by now,” Brad told the New York Post “it’s not gonna happen. I could literally be her father.”

Hmmm. What’s the significance of that “if,” I wonder?

He’s right about the ages, though only barely: he’s 38. She’s 22.

On Letterman the other night, meanwhile, Lawrence denounced an unnamed tabloid for running a bikini photo in which her lower middle rear appeared quite, err, substantial.

“That’s not my butt and that’s the most important thing I want everyone to take away,” she told Dave, offered other photos making her look, you know, sleeker.
