Secondary-school graduation rates

-

High-school graduation rates in Quebec are calculated five, six and seven years after students first enter high school in Grade 7. Although high school runs five years, from Grade 7 to Grade 11, many school boards prefer to rely on the seven-rate, believing it provides a more accurate picture of the number of high-school graduates in the province. Taking the 2004 student cohort, 71.9 per cent students in the English public network graduated within five years. Within six years, 79.4 per cent had graduated; and within seven years, 91.3 per cent had graduated.
