MEXA OPENS HEALTH CENTRE ON ST. DENIS

Mexa Preventive Medicine Centres opened its first operating unit on the island of Montreal on Monday, bringing the network to three. Located on St. Denis St., the 14,000-square-foot centre will also house the head office. The 2-year-old Mexa, led by president and co-founder André de Villers, founder of Montreal’s Theratechn­ologies Inc., provides personaliz­ed health planning that integrates medicine, exercise and diet using tools such as genetic biomarkers and measuremen­t instrument­s. “The analysis of genetic difference­s will make it possible to determine the type of diet or exercise that gives the best results for any individual in the context of optimal health,” de Villers said in a statement. Mexa also has centres in Greenfield Park and in Vaudreuil-Dorion. It offers medical services for weight management as well as metabolic profiles and genetic testing.
