‘Mini Bublé’ on the way
Brace yourself for a baby Bublé.
Vancouver lounge legend Michael Bublé and his wife, Argentine actor and lingerie model Luisana Lopilato, are expecting their first child.
The couple made the announcement in a splashy video message that included ultrasound images of their child-to-be as crowds cheer in the background.
The 22-second clip is accompanied by a voice-over that says “Mike, Lu and ...” before cutting away to the baby scan under the heading: “Mini Bublé!”
The couple then embrace and reinforce the message with a simple declaration written in English and Spanish: “We’re having a baby Bublé.”
Bublé, who has won multiple Grammy and Juno awards for his swing-influenced standards, met Lopilato in 2008 and wrote his chart hit Haven’t Met You Yet in her honour.
They married in April 2011 in separate ceremonies in Buenos Aires and Vancouver.
Since then, the crooner has made it clear he wanted to set aside his busy schedule to concentrate on becoming a father.
In an interview last year, he said: “When I do have children my priority will be my family. I’ll continue for a couple more years and then it’s not that I’m going to stop.
“But I’ll definitely probably slow down the pace so that I can not have to hate myself for not being there for the family.”
Bublé admitted he was jealous of his many friends with children and had discussed baby names with Lopilato.
“I think Luisana wants me to name the kids after the Twilight characters, which is not going to happen,” he was quoted in the U.K. Sun.
“I came up with some hypothetical names … but she came up with Bella Bublé.”
Bublé says his life has changed for the better since meeting Lopilato.
“Lu has changed me,” he told Life&Style weekly.
“I’m really content and lucky. She’s amazing.
It is unclear how Luisana’s pregnancy will affect her long-standing contract with lingerie company Ultimo, the Sun reported.
