INTERNET ADVOCACY GROUP OPENS IN CANADA
TORONTO — The Internet Society, which advocates on digital issues on behalf of web users, has opened in Canada, the last G20 nation to have a national branch of the group launch within its borders. The group, which has about 65,000 members in 92 chapters around the world, said it will involve itself with issues such as net neutrality, rural accessibility, Internet service provider concentration and crossownership of content providers by Internet carriers, as well as defend Canadian interests internationally.
