Actor famous for taunting Darth Vader
The actor who mocked Darth Vader in the first Star Wars movie and had his windpipe crushed for his trouble has died, TMZ reports. Richard LeParmentier was 66 and a cause of death was not released. LeParmentier was in more than 50 films and TV shows during his career. But it is as Death Star commander Admiral Motti who taunted Vader for his “sorcerer’s ways” and “sad devotion to that ancient Jedi religion” that he’ll be best remembered.
LeParmentier also played a police officer in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. After his acting career, he worked as a screenwriter for British TV.
