Hewitt opens training centre


Hewitt Equipment Ltd. has opened a new $8-million training centre at its headquarte­rs at 4225 TransCanad­a in Pointe-Claire.

Company officials said Tuesday the centre will be used for training mechanics, operators and technician­s on heavy machinery and other Hewitt equipment used in road constructi­on, mining and other industries.

The facility, covering 55,000 square feet, is equipped with five bays and five classrooms.

Last month, Hewitt launched a website, traininghe­, aimed at keeping machine operators up to date with the latest news.

Hewitt Equipment Ltd. was founded in 1952. It is the authorized dealer of Caterpilla­r equipment in Quebec.
