The value of independent thought
Re: “Teacher was cold about JFK” (Opinion, Nov. 22)
I had the same professor at Vanier College a few years later. I am thankful that he caused me to question the Kennedy mythology. He was, after all, a mediocre president, particularly with regard to the civil rights movement. It instilled in me the value of independent thought based on my own research and the facts. Although I did not immediately appreciate my bubble of preconceived notions being burst, the experience has served me greatly ever since.
Thank you, Leo Bertley.
