Nilan, Boone provide double punch on HI/O

-

Former Canadien Chris (Knuckles) Nilan and Mike Boone are the guests on this week’s HI/O Show on The Gazette’s hockeyinsideout. com website, joining Gazette sports editor/host Stu Cowan to discuss the latest Canadiens news.

Among the topics discussed are the latest P.K. Subban controversy, whether defenceman Nathan Beaulieu is ready now for the NHL, and if Louis Leblanc’s days in the Canadiens organization are numbered with his contract running out at the end of this season.

“Would they give up on a francophone prospect at this stage of his career?” Boone asks.

Nilan recalls the first time he was called up from the minors by the Canadiens, saying he was so nervous that he forgot his hockey bag, and gives his take on the recent Flames-Canucks brawl on his Knuckles’ Knockout segment.

Nilan also talks about the biggest “chirper” he had as a teammate and how he could get under the other team’s skin and how the Boston Bruins’ Cam Neely “lost it” one time.

And Boone, who does a live blog on the HI/O website during every Habs game, discusses the fans’ passion and part of what fuels it, calling the HI/O community “the world’s largest tavern table.” You can watch a new HI/O Show every week, get all the latest news on the Canadiens, post comments and follow Boone’s live blog during every Canadiens game, at
