NEW ZEALAND APPALLED BY FOREIGN DRIVING
Dozy drivers are giving foreign tourism a bad name Down Under. New Zealand courts say “appalling” motoring by visitors was responsible for four crashes in one day this month in the southern region of Fiordland, where twisty roads and majestic scenery have been a recipe for mayhem. A spokesman for the Southern Highway Patrol said the problem was worsened by the fact that many tourists rent high-powered cars unsuited for the country’s road network.
