Three teenage suspects arrested following Dollard car break-in
The quick reaction of a Dollard-des-Ormeaux resident led to the arrest of three teenagers suspected of breaking into cars in the wee hours of the morning on March 21.
The resident on Merritt Street heard a noise at around 2:30 a.m. and looked outside to see someone searching through a neighbour’s vehicle said Montreal police Const. Chantal Castonguay from Station 4. The witness called 911. Police arrived quickly, apprehending two 16-year-olds and one 17-year-old — all residents of the West Island — a short distance from the pilfered car.
The witness found a glove underneath a car parked on a neighbouring property and gave it to the police.
A matching glove was found in the possession of one of the suspects. The suspect was also carrying a backpack which belonged to the owner of the car the witness saw being searched.
