I never really liked being James Bond, Brosnan says

Pierce Brosnan, out publicizing the movie Love Punch, tells The Telegraph he was never much into being James Bond.

He played 007 in four pictures between 1995 and 2002. But now he says he was “never good enough” in the role and feels as if he were “caught in a time warp between Roger and Sean,” meaning of course Sean Connery and Roger Moore.

Brosnan goes all grad-school English department on us, adding this: “It was a very hard one to grasp the meaning of (the role), for me. The violence was never real, the brute force of the man was never palpable … the characterization didn’t have a follow-through of reality, it was surface.”

Wait! What? James Bond movies not realistic? Who knew? Celebs: they’re just like us, No. 5,487 in a series: Robert Downey

Jr. recently signed up with Twitter. Somehow it’s reassuring to know that he started with the same weary old joke everyone uses for their first tweets:

“Loving all the love, folks. It’s been a blast. Though can somebody please explain how anyone can keep their thoughts to 140 characters or le”

Ho hum. Washed-up comedian Mike My

ers and his wife, Kelly Tisdale, are welcoming their second child together, born Friday. The girl will go through life as Sunday Molly Myers.

People mag quotes the parent as saying they “couldn’t be happier.” But they didn’t explain that first name. Mike is 50. Kelly is 37. Their son Spike is 2.

Warn your children: James Cam

eron, preparing to shoot a bunch more Avatar movies, is planning to give us all the Pandora we can handle, and then more.

In one of those “ask me anything” things on Reddit the other day, Cameron said this:

“It’s going to be a lot of new imagery and a lot of new environments and creatures across Pandora. … At first I thought I was going to take it onto other worlds as well, in the same solar system, but it turned out not to be necessary.

“I mean the Pandora that we have imagined will be a fantasy land that is going to occupy people for decades to come.”

Nick Carter, the Backstreet Boy, married fitness instructor Lauren Kitt on Saturday in Santa Barbara. “Best day of my life,” he told In Touch mag. They’ve been dating for four years. Nick’s 34.

This turns out to be kind of disappointing: Johnny Depp will probably have to testify in a murder case, TMZ.com reports. But evidently he doesn’t actually have any connection with anyone involved.

Here’s the deal: L.A. limousine driver Nancy Lekon goes on trial for murder there this month, accused of running down a pedestrian in 2009. She’s pleading not-guilty-by-reason-of-insanity.

Here’s where Depp comes in, TMZ explains: Lekon told cops she’d been on her way to a “rendezvous” with her lover Depp; in fact they’ve never met and he’s never heard of her, says her lawyer. If Depp testifies that way, it should help prove that she’s nuts.
