ROCCABELLA PROJECT EMBARKS ON PHASE 2
Forty-storey ‘twins’ double the pleasure of Bell Centre area development
With the success of Phase 1 sales of its Drummond Tower as a foundation, developer MC Finance is set to go ahead with Phase 2 — the Mountain Tower — of their Roccabella project in the prime downtown real estate bordered by Drummond and Mountain Sts. Buyer response to Phase 1, which is now almost 90 per cent sold and set for an end-of-2015 delivery, has been so robust, its Phase 2 twin will proudly line up beside it by 2017.
“We first launched sales for Phase 1 in March of 2013 and we now feel confident about going ahead with our original plans for Phase 2,” said Giovanni Tartaglino of MC Finance. “Some of the buyers disappointed by not getting the unit they wanted in Phase 1 will now have a second chance.”
Both Phase 1 and 2 have exactly the same specs — 298 units in each tower — and share the magnificent 17,000 square feet of common landscaped third-floor terraces that will link the two towers.
MC Finance is working an Italian theme with the Roccabella, its name inspired by another MC Finance project, the luxurious 24-storey Roc Fleuri on the corner of Drummond St. and de Maisonneuve Blvd. W. The views afforded condo owners in the Roc Fleuri will be duplicated at the Roccabella, which has either views of the mountain or St. Lawrence River from all its units.
The steel reinforced walls and exterior facade, composed mainly of an architectural wall and anodized aluminum, protect what’s inside the Roccabella — and it is here that the devil is in the details.
All units have high-end engineered flooring, acoustically engineered sound control and a private balcony.
In the kitchens, buyers will be impressed by the seductive quality of Italian-made cabinetry, a choice of marble, quartz or granite countertops and backsplash, an all-inone fridge/stove/microwave and pantry unit.
Bathrooms will have a 48-inch finely-crafted Italian lacquer-finish cabinet as well as an ultra-chic free-standing acrylic bathtub and separate two-sided, tempered glass shower stall with all the faucet bells and whistles to wash your body clean from all angles.
Master bedrooms, all with a walk-in style closet with Italiandesigned built-in cabinetry, makes the flow to and from the bathroom a smooth and efficient transition.
“For our clients,” said Tartaglino, “it’s all about quality.”
And it’s also about doing some mixing and matching with Roccabella’s four colour schemes available for flooring, tiling and cabinets. In fact, some buyers might be inclined to do a little improvisation by buying more than one unit and expanding it, Tartaglino said.
“It’s not unusual for buyers to put their own touch to our construction. There’s always that choice.”
Tartaglino also hinted that an upscale restaurant may be in the plans for Phase 2. Both buildings will have a certain amount of commercial component to them on the ground floors, though no tenants have yet been finalized.

make the Roccabella a kind of downtown oasis, it’s almost as if condo owners may not even have to leave the building, although everything Montreal has to offer is, of course, just a few blocks away.
With a large fitness room, a yoga/ Pilates area, a sauna and Jacuzzi, an indoor pool that opens up onto the 17,000-square-foot common terrace, a multi-function party room and home-theatre room, the Roccabella seems to have all the bases covered.
Plus, they’ve added a nice environmental touch with an electriccar rental service. Add to that the indoor space for bicycle parking, with free air pump.
Going away on vacation or business? The Roccabella will monitor your condo while you’re gone with regular security checks.
Roccabella condos come in various sizes — one-, two- and threebedroom units — with the smallest coming in at 763 square feet and up to 2,605 square feet for the two 40th-storey Phase 2 penthouses. In between the first floor and the 40th, there’s something for every budget starting at $343,000.
The Roccabella is, to put it simply, “la bella vita.”
