When was the last time you were hurt?

-

When I was 7 years old and lived in Korea, I hurt myself very badly. My sister accidentally pushed a piano on my foot. It hurt a lot. I went to the hospital. I got a cast on my foot and my toenail fell off . I hope I never feel anything like that again. Amy Joeng, Grade 2, Elizabeth Ballantyne School I hurt myself when I was at my cousin’s cottage. I always hid from my dad – everyday. In the couch there’s big metal stuff , so I hid in the soft cushions. But my foot fell into the couch. It was bleeding a lot. I couldn’t stand for fi ve days. It was not fun. Braedon Hutchins, Grade 2, Elizabeth Ballantyne School Once a fat, black bee poked me. It was so deep, I was crying. I went outside to get my brother. My mother and I walked to his daycare. At the daycare, I went inside to the bathroom. I took a wet paper towel and put it on my arm. I hope I never have to go through that again. Sabrina Rahmani, Grade 2, Elizabeth Ballantyne School Last time I was hurt was when I had a scratch on my fi nger when I cut my bread before I went to school. My fi nger has a very, very little scar. Marie- Soleil Gagné, Grade 6, Intensive English, Notre-Dame- des- Bois-Francs School The last time I was hurt was last week, when my brother hit me on the knee with the phone. That evening I had swimming classes, so it started to hurt. It took me three days to recover. Corinne Amaral, Grade 6, Intensive English, Notre-Dame- des- Bois-Francs School Daddy took me to work, I was running and hit my forehead on a desk. I cut my eyebrow. It bled and hurt. I went to the Montreal Children’s Hospital. When the doctor saw me, he decided to use glue instead of stitches. He glued his blue glove to my face by mistake and then had to cut it off . After we laughed. Sienna Duniz, Grade 2, St. Edmund School The last time I got hurt was about two years ago when a piece of metal fell on my head. I was in the gym in my house when it happened. My mom brought me to the hospital. I was crying hysterically. I waited two hours for the doctor to see me. When he did, he told me I needed stitches. Eight stitches later, I was good as new. Sarina De Bastos, Grade 6, Edward Murphy School In 2012 I had my appendix removed. During the operation I was asleep so I didn’t feel anything. After it was quite painful. I stayed in the hospital for fi ve days to recover. I really didn’t like the hospital food and was anxious to get home so that I can eat a yummy meal. Italia Gisondi, Grade 6, Edward Murphy School I actually just got hurt this passed Sunday, when I banged my knee on my living room table. I quickly put ice on it but it didn’t really help. I was frustrated because I had my hockey fi nals that night and I could not let my team down. Well, I skated the best I could but, unfortunately, we were eliminated and did not win the Montreal Cup. After the game, I was fi nally able to relax my knee. It was good as new the next day. Ryan Cicchetti, Grade 6, Edward Murphy School. The last time I got hurt was March 16. My dog was eating a bone and I thought it was a Kleenex. I put my hand in his mouth and he bit one of my fi ngers really hard. I had a small hole from one of his teeth. I disinfected it with alcohol. Vittoria Kumar, Grade 5, Michelangelo International
