Forest Hill craft fair raises $2,700 for activities

Budget cuts create a need

- ALBERT KRAMBERGER

As part of ongoing efforts to subsidize student activities at Forest Hill in St-Lazare, its Home & School association held its firstever craft fair on Saturday.

The event, which was hosted by Forest Hill’s senior campus on Bédard St., featured about 35 crafters, a bake sale and a raffle. About $2,744 was raised at the fair by the volunteer association.

“Of course, we would have liked to raise a little more, but for our first craft fair, we were very pleased with the outcome,” said Home & School president Eveline Azran.

“With all the cuts being made to school budgets over the next year, our needs will be many. Part of these funds will be used to help support our resource departments,” and for purchasing books, she said.

Proceeds raised by Home & School are used to support literature projects, sports, and cultural activities for students at Forest Hill’s junior and senior campuses.
