A food bank in Pierrefond­s is in great need of volunteers with cars to deliver food boxes to people in need. The deliveries are done two to five times a week depending on need and volunteers can do it once a week or more if they choose.

A 75 year-old woman in Pierrefond­s would enjoy having a female volunteer to share her interests in playing Scrabble, bible studies, going for walks when the weather is nice or just having a good chat.

We are desperatel­y looking for male volunteers to help out in our Youth Engagement matching project, which matches volunteers with individual­s with intellectu­al disabiliti­es to help break their social isolation. We are looking for soccer players, coffee drinkers, chess players, etc.

A woman in her late 50s living in a residence in Pierrefond­s would appreciate having a female volunteer who could visit her on a regular basis, once a week on a Tuesday would be preferable. She has MS and uses a wheelchair. She enjoys playing cards and would enjoy short outings, (going out for a coffee or a short ride in her wheelchair outside).

A Senneville woman in her early 60s who has recently had a stroke would enjoy having a female volunteer who could visit with her on a regular basis. She used to write poetry and loves to read. She has her own car which the volunteer could drive to go on short outings. A 93-year-old Beaconsfie­ld man

needs a volunteer to assist him with certain activities such as reading the newspaper and holding a discussion about current events. The volunteer could also go on short walks with him and support him by ensuring him that he is safe.

A 70-year-old retired professor living in a residence in Dorval would like a male volunteer to accompany him with small shopping errands as well as play dominoes, go to the library and play cards.

A senior D.D.O. man with mild dementia would appreciate a male volunteer to provide some social support through regular visits. He’s a retired university professor who enjoys gardening and going for walks in his neighbourh­ood.

A middle-aged D.D.O. woman with Parkinson’s would appreciate a female volunteer to accompany her on outings such as the grocery store or appointmen­ts. She is a single mother of three and is socially isolated.

A 70-year-old man in Île-Bizard would benefit from a male volunteer advocate to accompany him on outings such as bowling, going to the movies, going on walks with the dog, or out for coffee to Tim Horton’s. He has some dementia.

A middle-aged single mother with some mental health problems would benefit from a female volunteer to provide social support through regular visits.
