Wristband goes to animal charity

-

Buckingham Palace says a wristband worn by tennis star Andy Murray during his Wimbledon tournament and later given to the Duchess of Cornwall has fetched more than $3,100 for an animal charity. Camilla, the wife of Prince Charles, grimaced as the chairman of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club handed her the sweaty wristband tossed out by the tennis star last Friday. She put her memento on the online auction site, eBay, where it attracted 45 bids and sold for $3,100 Monday. The money raised will go directly to the Animal Care Trust, the Royal Veterinary College’s registered charity.
