FROOME’S RIDE FOR GLORY COMPROMISED IN POSSIBLE DATA-SPYING

-

Team Sky is consulting its lawyers following what it believes to be the potential hacking of Chris Froome’s training data files. The British team revealed the suspected theft Monday after being asked whether they expected Froome to face doping questions if he performed well in the mountains. “We think someone has hacked into our training data and got Chris’s files, so we’ve got some legal guys on the case there,” said Team Sky general manager Sir Dave Brailsford. Brailsford declined to say who he believed to be behind the hacking, but said that “ethically and morally, if you are going to accuse someone of doping, then don’t cheat (steal).” Team Sky hopes to use the training information — which includes power data, pace of climbs, physiology, and more — to convince doubters that Froome is racing clean.
