Public transit:
Financing based on the level of usage nationwide. With the city accounting for 20 per cent of public transit users across Canada, Montreal should receive $200 million a year, Coderre said.
Financing for light rail on the Champlain Bridge and the new train line to the West Island.
Infrastructure:
$342.5 million annually for its infrastructure repairs, $77 million more than what is currently promised by the federal government.
Social housing:
Triple the amount accorded by the federal government, from $8 million to $24 million, to tackle homelessness and support social workers, shelters.
$185 million annually to build or renovate social housing structures.
Security:
$10 million for Montreal’s police force.
$1 million for the city’s newly created anti-radicalization centre.
Economic development:
Increase support for industrial clusters unique to Montreal, particularly the aviation sector.
375th birthday:
Help with funding for celebrations, and for the federal government to pay for maintenance costs of illuminating the Jacques Cartier Bridge (which the federal government is paying $30 million to initiate).
