The Montreal police are seeking help from the public as they continue to investigate a double homicide on the Main early last month.

Four people have been charged so far in connection with the events that resulted in the deaths of two men and two other men being seriously injured on St-Laurent Blvd., near the intersection of Des Pins Ave., on Aug. 2 as many people were leaving bars after closing time.

“The investigation is still ongoing with the goal of gathering more information relative to these crimes. (Homicide) investigators believe that people might have taken images of these events and are asking the public to collaborate by transmitting these images to us,” the Montreal police said in a statement issued on Wednesday.

The police asked that anyone who might have recorded the images bring them to their nearest neighbourhood police station.

Only one of the four men arrested so far has been charged with murder. Keyshell Deranks Pierre (also known as Derank Pierre Keyshell), 22, of Montreal, was charged on Aug. 10 with first-degree murder in the slaying of Kevin Alves Loures, a 24-year-old Montreal resident. Pierre is also charged with the attempted murders of Rael Elysée andMakindyEdouard, thetwomen who were injured when Loures was killed. According to the indictment filed against Pierre, Elysée was shot and Edouard was beaten.

No charges have been filed in connection with the other man who was killed on Aug. 2 and the Montreal police have not released his name. At the time of his arrest, Pierre was on probation as part of a sentence he received last year, on Sept. 16, after he pleaded guilty at the Montreal courthouse to drug trafficking. Pierre remains detained and the next court date in his case is scheduled for Monday.

Two of the other men who were arrested as part of the same investigation — Marc-Evans Jeantihomme, 23, and Stanley Casimir, 24, both of Montreal — have been charged with the attempted murder of Elysée. Another man — JeanFrançois Félix, 30 — is also charged with one count of attempted murder as well as assault.

All three of the men charged with attempted murder are detained and have bail hearings scheduled in October.

When Pierre was charged on Aug. 10, a judge ordered that he not communicate with the two surviving victims. He was also ordered to not communicate with the three men charged with attempted murder as well as a fourth man who, in 2013, was sentenced to a three-year prison term for robbery, but hasn’t been charged in the case.

Last month, police said the deaths appeared to be part of a street brawl, but also said the homicides might have been gangrelated.
