An opinion article in Friday’s Montreal Gazette said Egyptian Leader Gamal Abdel Nasser closed the Suez Canal to Israeli ships in 1967. In fact, the Straits of Tiran was the waterway that was closed to Israeli shipping that year; the Suez Canal was already closed to Israeli ships. The Montreal Gazette regrets the error.
