Fixed rate for water in LaSalle

-

Residents of LaSalle will no longer get a water bill based on their consumption, the borough announced this month. Rather than replacing old water meters, the borough is moving instead to a fixed fee of $40 per household. The borough asks that citizens strive to conserve water despite the change. If a water meter is broken or defective, the borough will come and install a water service pipe in its place. Homeowners can also do that at their own expense. Keeping meters in good working order is the responsibility of the homeowner. Consumptionbased billing will remain in place for commercial, institutional and industrial buildings.
