AU COEUR DE LA POMME
This beautiful old orchard on 15 riverside acres is a gorgeous spot for picking your own apples from among the 12 different varieties the Levasseur family grows. The apples aren’t certified organic, but they are sprayed only minimally, with integrated pest management strategies employed to control insects.
It’s also fun to poke around in the store, where they sell apples and pears, their own apple cider vinegar as well as jams, jellies, chutneys and fresh apple juice, pies and doughnuts. During the last two weekends of September, there will be old-school basket-weaving demonstrations.
