Kate Winslet’s kids aren’t all a-Twitter

- DOUG CAMILLI tellcamilli@gmail.com

Kate Winslet’s three children are forbidden to use social media, and other parents should have the same rule, she tells the London Times. I wonder how she thinks she’ll enforce that.

Winslet’s worried about her teenage daughter, Mia. Social media can be negative, she says, and “has a huge impact on young women’s self-esteem, because all they ever do is design themselves for people to like them. And what comes along with that? Eating disorders. And that makes my blood boil. And that is the reason we don’t have social media in our house.”

Instead, she suggests, “let your kids climb trees. Play Monopoly!”

She’s 40. Mia’s 15. Joe is 11. The youngest, Bear, turns 2 next month.

Sandra Bullock will indeed star in an all-female remake of Ocean’s 11, indiewire.com asserts.

Never mind if it’s true; already everybody’s speculating about the casting. We’ve come a long way since the original, macho 1960 Rat Pack picture. George Clooney and Brad Pitt starred in the 2001 remake, which has had two sequels.

Gary Ross (Seabiscuit) will direct this version.

Model-turned-actress Allison Williams tells Harper’s Bazaar she’s a terrible cook.

“Not only am I bad at it, but I also have some kind of inability to learn. The salad is done first and is soggy by the time you eat, the pasta is al dente, but not in a good way. And I’m perpetually worried that the meat is going to poison everyone, so it ends up being black.”

No comment from her husband of six weeks, College Humor co-founder Ricky Van Veen.

Anyway, Allie will soon be able to hire a chef, the way she’s going, between modelling and her role in Lena Dunham’s hit show Girls.

She’s the daughter of Brian Williams, the disgraced NBC newsman now exiled to MSNBC.

She’s 27.

This is confusing: Amazon.com has just opened a bricks-and-mortar bookstore, in Seattle, the local Times newspaper reports. An executive, Jennifer Cast, says "we hope this is not our only one. But we’ll see.”

The place has 5,000 titles and a staff of 15. Prices are the same as online.

Everybody was surprised when Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale filed for divorce last summer, after 13 years. That was just after country singers Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert also split, after four years.

It all started making sense when the Stefani-and-Shelton gossip started. They’re both judges on The Voice; serious on-set flirting was reported.

Blake is 39. Gwen’s 46.
