VICTOR SCHUKOV
With today’s overkill of awards ceremonies for attention-satiated celebrities, Victor Schukov says we need way more celebrations of regular people. And the younger the better. That is why he is suggesting that we bring back the West Island’s Young Achievers Awards. The now-defunct awards showcased some of the up-and-coming residents of the West Island between the ages of 10 and 17. And each year, these young people were honoured at a gala, where thousands of dollars in scholarships were handed out. The West Island Young Achievers are no more. But that doesn’t mean they cannot make a comeback.
