OBAMA’S CRITICISM OF CAMERON OVER LIBYA SPARKS FRONT- PAGE FRENZY
U.S. President Ba rack Obama has been accused of launching an unprecedented verbal attack on U. K. Prime Minister David Cameron.
In a magazine interview, Obama blunt ly implied Cameron’s lack of attention to Libya following the ouster of Moammar Gadhafi in 2011 was a key factor in why Libya was such a“s---show” now.
In The Atlantic, Obama f aults Cameron and other European allies saying, “I had more faith in the Europeans, given Libya’s proximity, being invested in the followup.” Obama’s c o mments h av e made front pages in Britain, with the Independent running the headline “Obama savages Cameron over Libya,” while the Times called the comments “extraordinary.”
