Justice for Jar Jar!

Nothing, they say, is as powerful as an idea whose time has come. So here we go: Fair play for Jar Jar Binks!

Ahmed Best, the actor behind the despised Star Wars character, tells Radio Times the role hurt his career. “The backlash did affect me getting work. There was nothing like it before and nobody wanted to take the risk on me.” He now works more as a musician than as a voice actor.

Jar Jar, with his big, floppy ears and goofball speech, was widely panned, and his big role in Episode I dwindled to a single line in Episode III. ( He also appears in the TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.)

So it’s time for a rethink. Maybe some thumb- sucking scholarly articles with headlines like “Jar Jar reconsidered”?

Best has also said future films may have revealed Jar Jar as secretly an evil Sith Lord were it not for his poor reception in Episode I. Maybe that idea can be resurrected. Revenge is near!

Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and his model wife, Behati Prinsloo, are expecting their first child, says Us Weekly.

Shortly after they got married in July 2014, Us reminds us, Levine told Ryan Seacrest that “I want to have 100 kids. I want to have more kids than would be socially responsible.”

He’s 36. Behati is 26.

Backstreet Boys, the musical? Hey, why not? Have you seen some of the stuff that succeeds on Broadway?

Baylee Littrell, 13- year- old son of band member Brian Littrell, made his Great White Way debut the other day in something called Disaster!, a musical spoof of cheesy 1970s disaster movies, with hit songs from that time.

Lurking around his son’s media interviews, Brian told Broadway. com that he’s been working on this BSB epic for four years already.

“We can’t talk about it,” he said, promptly proceeding to talk about it. “Think of Jersey Boys meets Cirque du Soleil with Backstreet Boys — that’s kind of what I’m looking for. … It’s based on the story of our lives — growing up, achieving what we did as a unit, but going through great times, downfalls and struggles, because it’s not easy.” No title yet.

He’s 41.

Gwen Stefani, perhaps feeling deprived of attention lately, tells the N. Y. Times that the reason for her divorce from Gavin Rossdale a year ago is “a really good, juicy story” — that she won’t reveal.

“If I could, I would just tell you everything, and you would just be in shock,” she says, but then gets coy.

Strange, because everybody who cares — fewer people than Gwen realizes, I suspect — already has a pretty good idea, from all the unconfirmed reports about Gavin and their Australian nanny Mindy Mann. ( Mindy is now pregnant, father not specified.)

Stefani is now with country singer Blake Shelton. Rumours about her being pregnant have given way to murmurings about a miscarriage.

Gwen is 46. Gavin is 50. The kids are Kingston, 9; Zuma, 7; and Apollo, 2.
