Autopsy required to identify body

A body was found in the StLawrence River by Pointe-auxTremble­s on Friday morning. The Canadian Coast Guard signalled the grim discovery to the Montreal Police at about 6:40 a.m. The body was picked up near St-Jean-Baptiste Blvd. and Notre-Dame St. E. Police spokespers­on Manuel Couture said an autopsy will help determine the gender and age of the body in question. It seems the person may have been dead for some time.
