Cyclist struck by van

A teenage cyclist was in critical condition Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle on Berri St. at 9:45 a.m. The 18-year-old cyclist was moving southbound when the collision occurred. A small van, also heading south on Berri St., attempted to turn right into a parking lot — a manoeuvre that crosses the bicycle lane. The van collided with the cyclist. One of the vehicle’s wheels is believed to have “passed over” the cyclist’s body, according to Abdullah Emran, spokesperson with the Montreal police.
