Gillan isn’t dressed for safari in Jumanji sequel

Next year there will finally be a sequel to the 1995 fantasy-adventure movie Jumanji, and the first still photo from the new picture came out this week.

Such is the sophistication of modern movie marketing that le tout Hollywood is buzzing about this snapshot — not because it’s inherently interesting, but because the babe in the cast, Karen Gillan, spoke out on Twitter to defend her scanty attire.

The picture shows Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Dwayne (the Rock) Johnson in safari clothes, while Gillan wears not much — a snug crop-top sweater, a short shorts and boots.

But Gillan promises via Twitter that “there is a reason” — which will soon be revealed — why she’s wearing “child-size clothes.” Just keep paying attention, people!

Model Behati Prinsloo and Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine have become parents, Us Weekly reports. They named their daughter Dusty Rose Levine.

Details are scarce. Us says the baby was born “in the L.A. area” and that a home birth had been planned. Wherever Behati was when the population increased, “everything went well,” Nameless Insider tells Us. “They’re a very happy couple. … They make very beautiful babies together.”

Maroon 5 had been scheduled to play Montreal’s Bell Centre last night. That show was rescheduled to Feb. 24 a few weeks ago because of the impending birth.

Behati is 27. Adam’s 37.

Got US$10.95 million to spare? Then you could be the new owner of Leonardo DiCaprio’s Malibu beach house.

We don’t know exactly why he’s selling — not enough models nearby, maybe. Forbes mag has details, about the hot tub and the two-car garage and the fact that he bought the joint back in 1998 for a mere US$1.6 million.

Chris Brown had booked a couple of gigs in Japan for next week, but it turns out that country refuses entry to any foreigner with a criminal record or an open criminal case. Brown has both — a rap sheet from his 2009 beating of Rihanna, and pending charges over last month’s standoff with police at his L.A. home. So Japanese fans are out of luck, Billboard reports.

Brown denies any wrongdoing in the recent case, and is selling a T-shirt about the woman involved, one Baylee Curran, with the legend “THIS B!TCH LYIN’.”

Last year Brown had to scrap an Australian tour, after being warned he couldn’t get a visa there.

He’s 27.

All women, all the time: After Ghostbusters and Ocean’s 8, get ready for Magnum’s Daughter P.I.

Deadline.com confirms that ABC is developing a series about the adventures of Lily Magnum, daughter of the character played so successfully by Tom Selleck. The Lily character appeared, as a little girl, in four episodes of the ’80s show.

Like the original, this will be set in Hawaii and will have plenty of humour along with the detecting. There’s a meta-story, too, stolen directly from the terrific series Burn Notice: Who ruined Lily’s career in U.S. naval intelligence, and why?

There’s no casting yet. One of the companies involved is Eva Longoria’s Unbelievable Entertainment.
