Here’s a good test: Go to ER incognito
Re: “Barrette offers taste test of care facilities’ new meals” (Montreal Gazette, Nov. 24)
Health Minister Gaétan Barrette and his MNAs were given a sampling of food that is to be served in long-term care institutions.
But the chefs knew who they were cooking for, and surely went out of their way to impress. Can we honestly believe that this quality of food will be given to patients? When the dust finally settles, I bet the same terrible food will appear again.
I have another experiment for the health minister: He should go into the emergency room of a hospital incognito. Let him see how long the average person has to wait before being seen.
I don’t know what Premier Philippe Couillard is thinking. Why hasn’t he removed Barrette from his post? He is a doctor, but he doesn’t know one thing about administering our health care, and we, the people, are suffering. Claire Nudel, Laval
