MF BOOM

8 Dog-friendliness of the neighbourhood, on a scale of 1 to 10.

- LITTLE BURGUNDY

This week I bumped into MF Boom, a puggle, with owners Mia Parang and Fred Caron, at a small park on the border of Little Burgundy and Point St-Charles along the Lachine Canal, just steps from the Charlevoix Bridge. A puggle is a designer breed — a cross between a beagle and a pug. Name: MF Boom, a.k.a. Boo Breed: Puggle; beagle & pug cross Age: 7 Owners: Fred Caron & Mia Parang Favourite neighbourhood spot to walk in: Along the canal by the old train tracks, near Atwater Market. The area boasts great parks. What do you love about the neighbourhood: It’s a largely dog-friendly community. Whether grabbing coffee at Lili & Oli, or a bite at the Burgundy Lion or El Gordo patios, jeans at STOCKMRKT or flowers at C’est Le Bouquet florist, we’re welcomed with Boo. Despite the number of dog owners, there’s a lack of dog parks. It would be great to get a space that is designed as a dog park so that the dogs can play together off-leash.
