‘THERE ARE SO MANY STORIES TO TELL’

-

Natasha Hall will be leaving CJAD’s evening Night Side program to take over the 1-to3 p.m. weekday slot, previously occupied by Barry Morgan, who has left the station. Hall’s career in broadcasting began nine years ago when she won a contest, Talk Show Idol, that landed her gigs first on 940 AM and then on Q-92 (now The Beat 92.5). “I always dreamed of going into radio,” says Hall, who had worked as a freelance writer for the Montreal Gazette. “I had been a radio junkie my whole life. My friends encouraged me to enter that contest, and at first I scoffed. But here I am nine years later.” Hall brings a highly personalized approach to the airwaves. “There are so many stories to tell. What I love about talk radio is that it gives time for those stories to be told and gives a voice to people. Talk radio is one of the few forums where that art is not dead.” One of her priorities will be sharing the airwaves with more women. “I don’t know why women seem to get lost in the shuffle. There’s no reason for the stories of so many interesting women not to be heard. That is a huge part of my plan.”
