Device makes bed for you

Smartduvet may do away with human chore that some loathe

-

The daily demands of making the bed may soon be a thing of the past.

At least that’s what the makers of Smartduvet want those who loathe this chore to believe.

As Trend Hunter discovered, Smartduvet is a device which attaches to any duvet and makes the bed with the press of a button.

The system is made up of three components: an inflatable framework, a Wi-Fi connected air pump and a smartphone app.

“When you activate Smartduvet, it inflates the sheet’s air chamber placing the duvet and sheets back in position. With the app, you can preset a different bed-making time for each day of the week, letting you sleep in on the weekends if you want to,” says the Montrealbased device-makers’ Kickstarter campaign.

But before anyone starts thinking their bed-making days are history, there’s still a matter of setting up the Smartduvet:

The user has to remove their duvet from the duvet cover and attach the device’s framework on top of it.

Slide the duvet and Smartduvet in the cover.

Attach the bottom of the duvet cover to the top sheet and attach it to the pump.

The air pump can then inflate the framework, causing it to return to the correct shape, and users can control the system using their smartphones.

At the moment, the Smartduvet appears to be days away from meeting its Kickstarter goal of raising $30,000 in pledges. Costwise, the kits are being sold in single, double, queen and king sizes both as early bird specials ($369-$399) and regular pricing ($419-$479). Check kickstarter. com for the latest updates.
