Birthday Guy: Actor Richard Dean Anderson was born in Minneapolis on this day in 1950. This birthday guy may be forever remembered for playing the title role on the hit series “MacGyver” from 1985-1992. He also starred as Jack O’Neill on “Stargate SG-1” and began his career portraying Dr. Jeff Webber on the soap “General Hospital” in 1980. He played a recurring role on “Fairly Legal” as well as appearing on “Raising Hope.”

Aries (Mar 21-Apr. 19): You’ll have no shortage of great ideas that may help improve your performance or provide solutions to difficult problems. Keep the lines of communication open, as a friend or neighbor may need your advice.

Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20): You won’t hesitate to offer a helping hand, but be sure that someone isn’t just taking advantage of your generous nature. Don’t allow past experiences to distort your current opinion.

Gemini (May 21-June 20): You might be skeptical when given information by someone with whom you may have had past differences, but the facts don’t lie. A loved one may require your undivided attention.

Cancer (June 21-July 22): There may be a tendency to overdo it by devoting too much time or effort to one thing while ignoring or neglecting something else. A price tag may not adequately illustrate how expensive an item really is.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22): Going off on a wild goose chase could distract you from taking care of important responsibilities. Even in the face of defeat or failure, there is still valuable knowledge to be gained from the experience.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Others don’t expect you to be perfect, so no need to place undue pressure on yourself with unrealistic goals. Now begins a short trend where events will consistently unfold in your favor.

Libra (Sept. 23- Oct. 22.) Even the tiniest contributions can be the difference between success and failure, so there’s no shame in taking on a minor role. Be enthusiastic and upbeat, and your energy will be contagious to those around you.

Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 21): Being sure of yourself and assertive could weaken the resolve of others and have them bending to your will. Others feel more comfortable when you are in charge and will look to you for advice and guidance.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Take note that others are copying your habits, as it’s quite likely that they wish to emulate your success. Becoming too deep or cerebral in conversations could leave others feeling intimidated.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): Not everything makes sense. Even if you’ve studied all the angles and computed all the odds, there’s still a chance that you may be completely wrong. Take nothing for granted, and be prepared for the unexpected.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Giving into whims and making impulsive changes could leave you worse off than you were to begin with. Listen to what someone has to say, and you may be surprised at the insightful knowledge you gain.

Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20): A bad experience in the past should be a good indicator that you shouldn’t put yourself in the same situation again. A friend or mentor should be able to shed some light on current difficulties.

If January 23 is your birthday: During the next four to five weeks, you might be overly eager to impress people with your astute business abilities. Put your powerful moneymaking ideas on the back burner until the end of February. Better yet, wait until May to make crucial financial decisions or to make key changes in your business or work affairs. That is a time when your shrewd appraisal of world conditions can help you make more money or succeed with intricate negotiations. You may be a bit more romantic-minded than usual, but throughout June and July your circle of friends will dominate your free time.
