Station 5: Dorval, Île-Dorval, Pointe-Claire

A Pointe-Claire man in his 60s faces multiple charges connected with the mugging of four seniors. Officers arrested the man at his home on March 19.

Earlier that day, an 81-year-old woman was walking to her car on Remembrance St. in Lachine when a man grabbed her arm and yanked at her purse. The woman screamed and the man ran.

A witness wrote down the licence number of the getaway car. Police recognized similarities to three other cases in Pointe-Claire, including the mugging of an 87-yearold woman days earlier. Following the arrest, officers searched the home and found IDs connected to previous muggings.

Const. Catherine Legault said that all four muggings targeted vulnerable seniors.

The back window of a grey Ford Explorer SUV was smashed and a purse stolen at around 11 p.m., on March 11.

Const. Leslie Potts said the vehicle was parked near 4200 Sources Blvd. There were no witnesses.

Two days later, a white Dodge Caravan parked near 3490 Sources Blvd. was stolen sometime between 6 p.m. on March 13 and 8:30 a.m. the next day.

Station 3: Île-Bizard-Ste-Geneviève, Pierrefonds-Roxboro

There was an armed robbery in Pierrefonds-Roxboro at 12:30 a.m. on March 15. A 70-year-old woman working at a bar on Gouin Blvd., opened the door to find two armed men — one with a hand gun, the other with a crowbar. Const. Daniel Maheu said she was ordered to kneel and her money was stolen. Then she was ordered to empty the cash register. Both men were black, around 30 years old and dressed in dark clothing. One suspect was around 5-foot-6 and the other around 5-foot-8.

A Yanmar excavator was set on fire in Pierrefonds-Roxboro, at around 5 a.m., on March 23. The excavator belonged to a 36-yearold man and was parked on Pavillon St. between Blondin St. and Woodland St. When firefighters arrived, the excavator and an adjacent fence were in flames. An accelerant was found nearby and police were called to the scene.
