Convicted murderer dies in Archambault prison
A coroner and Correctional Service Canada will investigate the death Wednesday of a 56-year-old inmate of Archambault Institution in Ste-Anne-des-Plaines.
Ronald Jette, convicted of second-degree murder, had been serving a sentence since June 14, 1988. Jette’s next of kin have been notified, Jonathan Huet, assistant warden of the prison, said in a statement Friday. Huet, who was unavailable for comment, did not indicate in the statement how Jette died. “As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances of the incident,” Huet wrote.
