Three rescued after flooding traps vehicle in provincial park

-

Three people who were in a vehicle trapped on a road in Jacques-Cartier Provincial Park because of a river overflow were rescued on Friday.

The road was suddenly submerged around 10:45 a.m. Friday, and rescuers found it difficult to access the scene, just north of Quebec City.

The regional fire department, which called in the Sûreté du Québec to help, finally managed to reach the vehicle with an inflatable boat around 1 p.m. to bring the occupants back to terra firma.

Their lives were never in danger.
