Cops nab naked, cuffed fugitive

When Anthony Cliche escaped police custody on Thursday, all he was wearing were handcuffs and a pair of pants. When he was re-arrested by the Sûreté du Québec in the town of Ste-Sophie early Friday, all he was wearing were the handcuffs. The 25-year-old resident of the Beauce had been taken into custody by police in St-Jérôme Thursday, reportedly on an outstanding arrest warrant, and taken to a highway police station. Cliche allegedly managed to overpower an officer watching him and, wearing only a pair of pants and his handcuffs, dashed out of the station, launching a manhunt. After receiving a tip from a Ste-Sophie resident who had noticed a naked, handcuffed man in the neighbourhood, the SQ quickly moved to arrest him and then have him treated for hypothermia.
