2,889 residences affected by flood

On Friday, public authoritie­s confirmed that water levels continued to decline in most regions affected by the floods in Quebec. Public Security Minister Martin Coiteux said Lac St-Louis water levels remained high but stable. Saguenay-Lac Saint-Jean continues to have high levels of water and is expected to see rain on the weekend. Sandbags were brought in. As of Friday morning, 78 Quebec municipali­ties remain affected by the flood; 2,889 residences are inundated and 170 roads are still damaged by the flood waters. Coiteux indicated that public safety teams will be deployed during the next few days based on pressing needs.
