‘WTF?’ email sparks airline ruckus
One of the world’s leading airlines is being accused of vulgar insensitivity after responding to a customer request with the email tagline “WTF?” Emirates airlines wrote to customer Claire Finch, of northern England, to acknowledge her request for compensation over a missed flight. But a second email, apparently sent in error, contained the profane abbreviation and went on to disparage the customer. “Wtf … is she on about?!?” the email read, according to The Independent. “If you’ve put it in the letter, what the f** does she need to do!!!” A third email was sent shortly afterward that read: “... Would like to recall the message, ‘Wtf’ ...” Emirates apologized to Finch and said the employee had been “dealt with.”
