Home runs power Jays over Yankees

Josh Donaldson hit a pair of home runs and Justin Smoak added another as the Toronto Blue Jays posted a 7-5 victory over the New York Yankees in MLB action at Rogers Centre. The Jays took leads of 5-0 and 6-4, but the first-place Yankees kept chipping away. The Jays hung on despite home runs by New York’s Aaron Judge (the MLB leader with 18) and Starlin Castro. Jays starter Francisco Liriano made his return to the rotation and got the win, working five innings and allowing two runs on four hits. Roberto Osuna picked up his 12th save. Michael Pineda was the losing pitcher for the Yanks, allowing five runs and 10 hits in five innings of work.
