Dufner off to record start at the Memorial

-

Jason Dufner wanted to put together more than just a few good rounds this week at the Memorial. The first two put him in the record book. Dufner holed out from 176 yards on the 18th hole for an eagle, then added three more birdies on the front nine at Muirfield Village for another 7-under 65. That put him at 130 and gave him the 36-hole scoring record at the Memorial, along with a five-shot lead over Daniel Summerhays. The top Canadian, Graham DeLaet of Weyburn, Sask., moved up to a tie for 13th at 4-under after a 67. Nick Taylor (76) of Abbotsford, B.C., sat at 1-over, one shot better than Mackenzie Hughes of Hamilton, Ont. (70). David Hearn of Brantford, Ont. (4-over) and Adam Hadwin of Abbotsford (8-over) did not make the cut.
