Nissan: Moving forward, faster
Last year, Nissan declared it the Year of the Truck, having updated the Titan, Armada, Pathfinder and Rogue. From a sales perspective, this initiative was a success since all four models are posting doubledigit calendar year-to-date growth and continue to achieve sales records.
This past summer, Nissan also took a star from its European portfolio, fine-tuned it for North America, and brought it to Canada — the Nissan Qashqai crossover. With compact SUVs becoming the largest volume segment in Canada, we recognized an opportunity for us to expand our lineup even further. The Qashqai perfectly bridges the gap between compact sedan and SUV by offering the benefits of both at an exceptional value. The Qashqai’s sporty styling and beautiful driving dynamics, including all-wheel drive, are already a hit with Canadians, and it is quickly gaining the sales momentum we thought it would.
Nissan Intelligent Mobility: roadmap to zero-emissions,
zero fatalities — The guiding light for Nissan’s product evolution is called Nissan Intelligent Mobility, which focuses on how our vehicles are powered, how they are driven, and how they are integrated into society. The ultimate goal of Nissan Intelligent Mobility is achieving two things: zero-emissions and zero-fatalities on the road.
We don’t want to remove humans from the driving experience. Instead, we want to build a better future for Nissan customers where cars are their partners, and where drivers are more confident and more connected. Nissan’s Intelligent Driving is foremost about performance, comfort and safety, removing the stress from a daily commute or minimizing the risk of unsafe conditions. Many of these advances are already available in our products as drivers can rely today on vehicles to recognize danger or take appropriate action to enhance safety. Nissan is leading with its Safety Shield technologies like Lane Departure Warning and Forward Emergency Braking, and will advance this leadership into autonomous drive technologies, available to all customers on core models in the range.
One example of this is ProPilot Assist, a hands-on-wheel technology that is paving the way to the next level of autonomous driving. ProPilot Assist reduces the hassle of stop-and-go driving by helping control acceleration, braking and steering during single-lane highway driving.
The new Nissan Leaf: simply
amazing — On sale early next year, the new Leaf features a 241-kilometre driving range, aerodynamic exterior, roomy high-tech interior and advanced technologies including ProPilot Assist and e-Pedal.
The Leaf ’s revolutionary e-Pedal technology transforms the driving experience. It lets drivers start, accelerate, decelerate and stop by increasing or decreasing the pressure applied to the accelerator. When the accelerator is fully released, regenerative and friction brakes are applied automatically, bringing the car to a complete stop. The car holds its position, even on uphill slopes, until the accelerator is pressed again. The reactiveness of e-Pedal helps maximize driving pleasure.
The all-new 2018 Nissan Leaf is the vessel for Nissan Intelligent Mobility, and we believe that Leaf will revolutionize the industry once again — this time by offering the mass market a suite of the most progressive safety technology at an affordable price.
