Q Inspiration concept predicts future of sedans
After a stream of hints and teasers, we finally have our first look at the Infiniti Q Inspiration concept, a flagship sedan cooked up by the Japanese automaker.
Exact details are thin, and for now the only full shot Infiniti is showing off is from the car’s rear quarters. Nevertheless, the styling is both distinctly Infiniti and rather fresh, complete with smooth and flowing lines, a sleek set of tail lights sweeping across the rear end, a fastback-style side profile and what appears to be a hatchback.
Infiniti design director Karim Habib promises the concept will “take the traditional sedan architecture to its next stage of evolution.”
Clearly, the Q Inspiration isn’t a sedan in the traditional sense.
Powertrain details are still under wraps, but we wouldn’t be surprised if we see Infiniti’s new, variable-compression engine and some sort of electrification under the skin.
We’ll have full details on the Q Inspiration concept when the Detroit auto show kicks off later this month.
