Suspect sought after Jarry St. bar shootings

-

Montreal police are seeking a 24-year-old suspect after a Jarry St. bar was shot up last week and two people injured. Investigators say they believe Amine Mohammed Khabba is responsible for the shootings, which occurred at 2 a.m. on Jan. 26 at the Lucky 7 Resto-Pub on Jarry St. near St-Michel Blvd. Police say Khabba was in the bar, exited for a few minutes and then returned, opening fire and wounding one person in the arm and another in the shoulder. While police perceive the bar as being popular with street gangs, no motive has yet been established for the shootings. Khabba faces a charge of armed assault in connection with the incident, as well as a slew of weapons charges. Police say the suspect is of Moroccan origin, speaks French and Arabic, is 5-foot11 and weighs 200 pounds. He also has a tear tattooed under his left eye. Investigators note Khabba may be armed and warn anyone encountering him to act with caution. Anyone with any information on the shooting or Khabba’s whereabouts is urged to call Info-Crime at 514 393-1133. All calls will be treated confidentially.
