Multiple raids target Hells Angels members in Quebec

-

Police carried out a series of search warrants in various parts of the province on Tuesday within the framework of an investigation related to organized crime.

More than 120 police officers were deployed in municipalities in the Montéregie and Outaouais regions as well as on the NorthShore of Montreal to carry out the police operation.

Investigators also searched a Hells Angels clubhouse in St-Charles-sur-Richelieu, where the gang ’s South chapter is based.

They also carried out search warrants in Terrebonne, Bois-des-Filion, Roxton Pond, Roxton Falls, Thurso, Val-des-Monts, Chéneville and St-Placide.

According to the Sûreté du Quebec, nine residences and 10 vehicles were targeted by investigators in the operation.

However, no arrests were expected.

The search warrants are related to four other similar operations that were carried out in the same fashion in January and February as part of Project Objection, an investigation run by the National Organized Crime Repression Squad (referred to as ENRCO in French).

The investigation appears to have targeted both former and active Quebec members of the world’s most notorious biker gang.

The mandate of the squad is to target the leaders of organizations suspected of drug trafficking.

Besides the SQ, the squad is composed of members of the RCMP, Montreal police and Laval police.
